George W. Shuster is formerly chair of the Care New England Board of Trustees, which he joined in 1996. He was elected to the Kent Hospital Board of Trustees in 1993. He is chair of the Compensation Committee and serves on the Investment, Governance and Nominating, and Quality committees. He is chairman of the board at Cranston Print Works, an employee-owned textile manufacturing company that dates to the Industrial Revolution. He has served as officer and chair of UNITE-HERE Textile Workers’ Pension Fund, co-chair of the Center for Design and Business, chair of the Manufacturer’s Council of the Greater Providence Chamber of Commerce, chair of the National Textile Association, secretary of the Yale Crew Association, vice chair and secretary of the Providence Public Library, secretary of the Rhode Island Audubon Society, president of the Narragansett Council of the Boy Scouts of America, board member at Kenney Manufacturing Company, and co-chair of the American Manufacturing Trade Action Coalition. He is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Yale University and earned graduate degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Yale Law School.
